The most common emergencies we see in Charlotte: throbbing toothache that won't quit, a tooth broken from biting something hard, a crown that popped off mid-meal, a knocked-out front tooth from sports or a fall, and bleeding or swelling after another procedure. Each has a different fix, but the first step is the same — get you out of pain, then build the proper repair around that.
If your emergency happens after hours, we still want to hear from you. Voicemails are checked through the evening, and we triage by call-back. For life-threatening swelling, trouble breathing, or trauma to the jaw or face, go to the ER first and call us once you're stable.

How fast can I be seen?
If you call before 2 pm Monday through Thursday, we can almost always see you the same day. Calls later in the day often get next-morning slots. Friday and weekend calls are triaged by phone and slotted into Monday.
My tooth got knocked out — what do I do?
Find the tooth, hold it by the crown (not the root), rinse gently in milk or saline if it's dirty, and place it back in the socket if possible. If not, store it in milk or saliva and call us immediately. Re-implantation works best within the first hour.
My crown fell off but it doesn't hurt — is it urgent?
It's urgent within a day or two even without pain. The tooth underneath is sensitive and can shift, making the crown not fit later. We can usually re-cement quickly. Call the next morning.
How much does an emergency visit cost?
A focused emergency exam and X-ray is typically $145 to $220. Treatment costs depend on what's needed and are presented in writing before we proceed. We never start a procedure without your okay.
Do you take walk-ins?
We strongly prefer a quick call first so we can have a chair and supplies ready when you arrive. If you walk in, we'll always do our best to help, but a call ensures a faster start.
